About Our Client: Founded in the 1950s, this family and employee owned manufacturer has three locations across the US and is the national leader in their niche. 
 
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Plant Manager, and supervises direct and indirect hourly associates
Work Schedule:  Full-Time on 3rd Shift (10pm - 6:30am) 
 
Job Functions:
  • Supervise and coordinate welding activities, and apply knowledge of welding equipment and fabrication requirements
  • Inspect work or confer with Weld Inspector to maintain specified standards and quality
  • Train workers in operation of equipment (may include machine set up or trial welds for test runs and experimental products)
  • Supervise brazing and soldering operations, as well as fitting and assembly of fittings
  • Instill and maintain a positive work atmosphere (i.e., conduct regular team and individual meetings, set expectations and hold team members accountable for assigned responsibilities and tasks, recognize associates that have exceeded expectations, display respect and commitment to the production operators by timely response to their questions, and deliver immediate reaction to safety, health and environmental issues, etc.)
  • Supervise safety practices of all associates, identify and react to unsafe conditions when necessary
  • Direct daily Welding Department floor activities to meet or exceed weld quality standards
  • Maintain manufacturing priorities and activities to meet and exceed required production goals
  • Ensure compliance to the production schedule
  • Complete all required report, checklists and data entry measuring productivity and ensure all other required checklists are completed accurately and consistently
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization

Ideal Candidate Qualities & Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelor degree in operations management or a technical field strongly preferred, with a mandatory post-secondary (high school) education
  • Minimum of five (5) years supervisory/management experience in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience working in a Lean/Continuous Improvement environment
  • Solid, demonstrated people management and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and train others 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
