We have a direct hire opportunity for a client in search of a Quality Assurance Welding Manager in Northeast, Ohio. This person will supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures while applying knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment, and fabrication requirements. The ideal candidate will be an experienced working manager with a strong background and understanding in ASME Code.

Job Functions
  • Administer welding procedures, procedural instructions, training, testing, evaluations, inspection process, etc. to ensure customer satisfaction and code requirements of all fabrication performed
  • Assists with the implementation, interpretation, and maintaining the company’s quality assurance standards
  • Assists with training employees in inspection procedures and processes
  • Provides weekly action plans for internal control on quality issues concerning fabrication processes and procedures
  • Assist company personnel in the determination of root cause for quality issues related to the welding process
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum high school diploma required
  • Knowledge and practical experience of common welding processes such as SMAW, SAW, FCAW, GMAW and GTAW
  • Previous industry related inspection experience preferred
  • SCWI, CWI or CAWI certification required
  • Knowledge of industry standards and specifications such as ASME, AWS, ISO and NACE
  • Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties
  • Knowledge of industry related NDE
  • Mag particle testing experience
  • Dye penetrant testing experience 
  • Visual testing experience
  • Radiographic testing experience
  • Strong communication skills with employees and customers
  • Strong project management skills – ASME Code construction related
  • Create welding procedures and train operators on new welding equipment installations
  • Proficient in use of computer word processor and spreadsheet software
  • Proficient in reading complex blueprints and welding drawings
