Job Description Job Title: Production Scheduler

Company Description: Founded in Cleveland in 1944, our client specializes in short and medium run metal stamping, fabrication and laser cutting to service a wide variety of industries.

About the job: The Production Scheduler is responsible for managing manufacturing work orders, planning, scheduling and ERP activities.

Job Requirements:

  •  
  • Timely creation of shop orders to satisfy customer demand, achieve desired stocking levels and maintain flow of work on the factory floor.
  •  
  • Plan, Review and Evaluate Work Orders within ERP
  •  
  • Manage work order backlog, status and maintenance for all stamping jobs.
  •  
  • Monitor daily order entry reports and communicate scheduling problems and concerns to Management.
  •  
  • Track progression of production orders, investigate factors that affect schedules, and modify plans as necessary.
  •  
  • Inform management of potential production problems and assist in the implementation of both short- and long-term solutions.
  •  
  • Issue daily production schedule.
  •  
  • Adjust and expedite as required to achieve required customer service commitments. 
  •  
  • Participate in weekly production meetings.
  •  
  • Initiate and participate in continuous improvement activities related to production planning, customer service and inventory management.
  •  
  • Release products to consignment inventory. Recommend production orders to fulfill consignment inventory levels.
  •  
  • Develop and distribute cut lists to shear.
  •  
Qualifications:
  •  
  • Prior experience as a production planner in the industry preferred
  •  
  • Good understanding of the industry market trends and conditions
  •  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  •  
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  •  
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees and internal departments
  •  
  • Strong regard for product quality and safety standards
  •  
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems, Epicor experience a plus
  •  

Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Prior experience working as a Production Planner in a manufacturing environment preferred.
