Our client is seeking detail-oriented Press Operators that are focused on quality and safety to join their team. This person will play a key role in the production of their products by performing duties related to metal stamping, production set up, machine management, and equipment management.
About Our Client Our client specializes in high quality metal stamping dies and precision machined components to customers all throughout the Rust Belt. Their areas of expertise within tool and die include wire, EDM, grinding, and jig grinding from design to build and even repair. This opportunity is perfect for someone who wants to work in a small shop that makes a big impact on the industry!
Job Functions
Installs and aligns specified dies in press
Adjusts ram to proper shut height
Adjusts feeders, straighteners, and de-coilers
Enters process parameters into equipment controllers
Ensure all guards and mis-feed protection devices are in place
Load coil onto reel and start the strip
Obtains first piece sample approval of the die
Adjusts press to produce parts in tolerance
Adjusts press to run at the proper speed
If operating press in production capacity may need to perform routine maintenance on press
Run press and pack parts
Strict adherence to Quality Control by using calipers and other measurement devices inspects critical dimensions of parts per documented quality requirements
Notify Supervisor of equipment, tooling, and/or quality problems
Keeps equipment, dies, tools, and work area clean, organized, and free of dirt, debris, clutter, oil, and water
Completes production paperwork
Enters daily labor record on time card
Requirements
Must have personal pair of steel toe shoes
2 years of Press Setup and Press Operator experience
Safe operation of Tow Motor experience required
Tow Motor certification preferred
