Paint Supervisor

Position Summary: Responsible for planning and directing employees within the department to meet objectives in production, quality, safety, housekeeping, and budgets (specifically, labor hours and expense items).
Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee paint department employees - review time cards, ensure accuracy, productivity, and safety is adhered to

Train new employees and ensure proper training takes place prior to leaving employees on their own

Ensure employees maintain productivity and have a strong work ethic

Hold weekly department meetings to discuss any issues and plant and departmental status

Participate in employee reviews
-
Support management decisions, counsel and discipline employees if necessary
-
Assess cost reduction possibilities in areas of responsibility and implement
-
Perform production activities when necessary
Ideal Candidate Qualities & Experience:
-
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred as well as ability to read, write, and speak English in order to understand written and verbal instructions and document completion of work
-
5+ years of paint experience, or related experience, is preferred
-
3+ years of supervisory experience is preferred

Must be able to perform all aspects of painting including, prime, single stage, base/clear coat, coal tar, undercoat, rhino lining, and UL1000
-
Must have detailed knowledge of painting systems and equipment in order to facilitate or direct repair

Must be able to read and understand blueprints and written specifications

Organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while exhibiting professional behavior

Decision making capabilities – ability to make decisions and solve problems
