Our client is looking for experienced Welders and Fitters to join their team. This person will focus on assembling and welding aluminum and stainless steel trailers, as well as sub-assemblies. 

About Our Client
Our client is a million-dollar manufacturer located right outside of the Akron area. Specializing in manufacturing and transportation, they are an industry leader offering quality trucks and trailers to customers nationally. 

Job Functions
Welders and fitters will be responsible for assembling and welding aluminum and stainless steel trailers. Some of their primary responsibilities will include: 

  • Layout and position parts according to a set of specifications 
  • Weld in various positions such as flat, horizontal, overhead and vertical 
  • MIG Aluminum and/or stainless steel 
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layouts
  • Weld small and large components
  • Use specialized machinery for industrial welding
  • Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors
  • Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes
  • Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions

Requirements

  • Must be able to work at heights up to 15 ft. 
  • Ability to use power tools such as: 
    • Circular saws
    • Band saws 
    • Air impacts 
    • Air and electric drills 
    • Grinders 
    • Wire crimps 
  • Ability to use hand tools 
  • Strong tape measurement reading skills 
  • Experience reading specification sheets and blueprints 
  • Availability to work overtime and Saturdays 
  • High School Diploma or GED is required 
  • Must be able to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Must have good communication skills
