Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Functions of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician:
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, repair and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, hydraulic and/or pneumatic components in manufacturing equipment
  • Plan, implement and maintain preventative maintenance program on engines, motors, pumps, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems and production machines in order to improve reliability.
  • Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance
  • Perform basic welding duties, fabricating fixtures, jigs, guarding, etc. as needed
  • Install or assist in the installation of new equipment and machine parts
  • Modify equipment as necessary to improve safety, quality, productivity and reliability
Ideal Qualities & Experience Required of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ year of experience in an industrial maintenance position
  • Mechanical capability to repair and/or analyze production equipment
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment, overhead crane and rigging principles
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand blueprints, manuals and assembly directions
  • Proficient communication skills – particularly, the ability to explain complex mechanical issues
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work, such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting and bending for extended periods of time
  • Must be reliable and self-motivated
     
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary based on experience and education
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x after 36 hours per week, based on a 12 hour work day
  • Weekly bonus payout: up to 70% of base hourly rate x hours worked per week
  • 12 hour shifts, generally 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am
  • Swing every 4 weeks to the opposite shift
  • 2-2-3 work schedule (48 hour work week, followed by a 36 hour work week)
  • Every other weekend off, opposite weekend will work
  • Open 24/7/365
