We have a client in need of a General Maintenance Technician who will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities including plumbing, electrical, basic carpentry, heating and cooling, rental equipment, and other building systems. This person will also be responsible for maintaining inventory of cleaning and perishable items related to breakrooms, bathrooms, and office needs and also assist the cleaning crew with daily cleaning, snow removal, and safety requirements.

Job Functions
  • Perform (or commission) facilities preventive maintenance, repair, or improvement
  • work.
  • Ensure that facilities meet all OSHA regulations, with direction from safety manager.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on all production and support equipment, including log of repair history.
  • Troubleshoot and repair (or commission repair of) production and support equipment in such a way to minimize lost production time, while meeting or exceeding safety rules.
  • Decommission and manage disposition of unneeded equipment and tools.
  • Perform repair and maintenance of rental hoists, and work with hoist manufacturers as needed.
  • Inspect returned rental equipment and provide instructions to manufacturing on required repairs – through standard job scheduling process.
  • Sign off and keep documentation on Rental Equipment repair/refurbish jobs.
  • Track physical location of rental equipment in-house and ensure that equipment is turned around in a timely manner.
  • Ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are organized and well stocked.
  • Perform maintenance/cleaning of outside facilities and new acquisitions.
  • Assist with 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • 10 years of proven experience in facilities and equipment maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge and ability in troubleshooting, repairing and specifying mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to work with all departments to understand their equipment & facilities needs and provide solutions.
