Our client is seeking diverse workers that are willing to be flexible and ready to take on a new task each day. This person will focus on constructing, maintaining, and testing mechanical equipment, machinery, and components throughout their facilities.

Job Functions

  • Monitor machine health through temperature or vibration characteristics at predetermined checkpoints
  • Check machine level and alignment at predetermined checkpoints
  • Record machine operating parameters using pre-made charts
  • Dismantle machines or equipment, replaces defective mechanical and electrical parts
  • Inspect gears, pulleys, wheels, chains, journals, sleeves, etc for wear and tear
  • Clean and lubricate machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings
  • Remove dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines that are not accessible by operators
  • Paint machines or equipment to prevent corrosion
  • Bend and cut conduit and wire, and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for electrical connections
  • Run pipe, hose and pneumatic fitting for service and process compressed dry air requirements basing on plans, schematics or instructions
  • Connect wires to motors, fixtures, and other electrical equipment, replaces switches and fuses, and splices wire and insulates wire with friction tape
  • Bend, cut, and thread pipe, cut openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seal pipe joints with sealing compound
  • Cut out and joins parts for worktables, benches, shelves, and other furnishings
  • Patch or replace plaster or plasterboard and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of the building
  • Clear clogged drains, and replaces plumbing fixtures
  • Operate welding machines to repair or join metal parts
  • Clean work area, tools, and equipment
  • Perform machine PM per schedule
  • Perform other routine duties
  • Attend classes/seminars for job skills improvement
  • Log PM sheets and Pass down sheets

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 2-4 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Basic machine knowledge
  • Ability to move or lift up to 135 pounds
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good attendance record
