HR Generalist 
Full-Time /  $45,000 - $55,000 annually  / Wooster, OH

We have a client in need of an outgoing, organized and experienced professional to help manage employee relations from recruitment to payroll and beyond. This person will have at least 5 years of experience in HR and must be familiar with recruitment, hire to retire process, compensation, benefits/insurance administration, employment law, employee handbooks, payroll/attendance, training/development, safety/workers compensation, employee relations and accounting functions.

Job Functions

  • Responsible for employee life cycle from recruiting to termination; including but not limited to, onboarding, training, evaluations, exit interviews, and off boarding.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Supports organization staff by establishing/maintaining a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; and recommending changes.
  • Coordinates with management on compensation structure by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; and recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training supervisors to coach and discipline employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Implements employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits at the local level.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conducting investigations, and maintaining records.
  • Works closely with payroll to ensure accurate records and pay; acts as back-up to process payroll when necessary.
  • Manages all Workers’ Compensation activities and sits on the safety committee.
  • Enforces management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures, including employee handbook.
  • Coordinate employee appreciation events, training, and philanthropic endeavors.
  • Assist with accounting functions that relate to human resources.

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree 
  • 5 years of human resources experience
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proficient using MS Office software
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Most importantly: patience, diplomacy, and integrity
