We have a client in need of a Fire Alarm Technician to install, test, maintain and repair fire safety and security systems, such as fire alarms and suppression systems, that ensure the safety of their clients. The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform tests and inspections, install fire alarms, repair fire alarms, adhere to regulations, and prepare reports.

About Our Client
Our client is a well known Electrical Contractor in the area that prides themselves on offering timely and quality service at fair and affordable prices. They provide electrical services in residential and commercial industries. They will take on any project from Facility Maintenance to Aerial Work. 

Job Functions

  • Install, maintain, or repair fire alarm systems, security systems, or other teledata systems, following blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans
  • Mount and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, or video cameras and attach electrical and telephone wiring to connect components
  • Install, test, repair, and terminate circuits and sensors, following wiring and system specifications
  • Lighting Controls System installation and wiring
  • Work with Supervisors on procuring materials, tools, and equipment needed
  • Travel as required
  • Troubleshooting
  • Equipment and Tools Operation
  • Maintain job site safety and cleanliness (including attending weekly safety meetings)
  • Communicating with Supervisors Daily
  • Ensuring quality control for all items installed
  • Assisting other Field Employees as necessary
  • Always meeting job schedules, communicating issues proactively
  • Maintaining adherence to Company Policy and Handbook items
  • Other electrical and low voltage tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • 2 years of low voltage experience
  • Fire Alarm License
  • NEC Code knowledgeable
  • NFPA 72 Basics Code knowledgeable
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Outlook proficient
  • OSHA 10 Certified (preferred, the company will provide upon hiring if not current)
  • Scissor Lift Operator Certified (preferred, the company will provide upon hiring if not current)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing long periods, bending, crouching, climbing, working at heights, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, gripping, vision, hearing, etc.)
