Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Functions of the Electrical Maintenance Technician:
  • Troubleshoot, repair, problem-solve, and maintain all electrical control problems for all manufacturing equipment
  • Perform routine, emergency, and preventive maintenance on all electrical equipment and parts
  • Study equipment manuals to develop audit items and preventative maintenance schedule
  • Install or assist in the installation of new equipment and machine parts
  • Identify, research, prepare and present solutions to control problems and continuous improvement (CI) projects
  • Evaluate equipment malfunctions with a sense of urgency to minimize downtime
  • Modify equipment as necessary to improve safety, quality, productivity and reliability 
     
Ideal Qualities & Experience Required of the Electrical Maintenance Technician:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3+ year of experience in an industrial electrical maintenance position with demonstrated experience with hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Proficient in reading blue prints and schematics
  • Strong electrical knowledge (circuit breakers and fixtures)
  • High level of PLC experience, preferably Allen Bradley
  • Experience in SLC 500, RSlogix 5/500/5000, PLC5, ControlLogix, Mircologix, and Panelview systems
  • Proficient communication skills – particularly, the ability to explain complex electrical issues
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding work, such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting and bending for extended periods of time
  • Must be reliable and self-motivated
     
Benefits:
  • Competitive base salary based on experience and education
  • Overtime paid at 1.5x after 36 hours per week, based on a 12 hour work day
  • Weekly bonus payout: up to 70% of base hourly rate x hours worked per week
  • 12 hour shifts, generally 6am – 6pm and 6pm – 6am
  • Swing every 4 weeks to the opposite shift
  • 2-2-3 work schedule (48 hour work week, followed by a 36 hour work week)
  • Every other weekend off, opposite weekend will work
  • Open 24/7/365
