We have a client looking for a Disassembler to join their team. This person will disassemble manufacturing machinery into its components, parts, and prepare for repair, rebuild and re-engineering of manufacturing equipment.
About Our Client Our client is a diverse manufacturing company creating parts and products for clients in automotive, beverage, steel, and other heavy industries. Focusing on stamping, forging, and steelmaking products our client is a major supplier throughout the United States.
Job Functions
To tear down/disassemble large manufacturing equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures
Verify and prepare all part/ components for welding, machining, and assembly
To read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bill of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately and efficiently disassemble equipment and products
To Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards, using in-process inspection tools and devices
To Work with shop equipment, power tools and torches
To Operate overhead cranes to move component parts
Must be capable of handling tasks requiring moderate to heavy physical exertion and also be able to stoop, bend, twist, and climb up onto the large equipment components while performing the disassembly duties
To Work in a safe manner at all times following established policies and procedures and maintain a good sense of safety and hazard awareness
Must be able to work with solvents, grease, and grime under relatively adverse physical conditions
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; applicable trade school preferred
3-5 years’ experience in mechanical assembly and disassembly
Must have mechanical ability to proficiently use cranes and other heavy tools and equipment that are normally required in the daily disassembly operations
Personally own tools of the trade, and the ability to use them effectively
Ability to use judgment to plan, perform and make decisions as to the sequence of operations and processes within the limitations of established or standard methods and procedures
Must be able to interpret customer prints well enough to determine appropriate disassembly sequence for variety of heavy equipment
Ability to read and interpret variety of assembly prints and understand verbal and written instructions
Basic computer skills and ability to use basic shop math
