Work closely and effectively communicate with various groups: senior leadership, cross functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Quality) as well as external suppliers, to support the planning and implementation of Cost Improvement (CI) projects

Administer/lead CI activities

Translate design requirements into component, subsystem and product specifications

Accountable for developing (and assisting with) accurate, comprehensive test plans

Assess cost reduction initiatives for technical feasibility, solution complexity and risk potential

Participate in and contribute to Supplier driven meetings to assess new product or technology offerings

Contribute to annual planning initiatives from a technical perspective

BSME or BSMET degree from an accredited university

Ability to understand product/component function, reliability and quality requirements in order to ensure CI initiatives meet all design reliability requirements

Working knowledge and understanding of hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems typically found on commercial class 5 and larger trucks

Ideal candidate is a self-starter - will use time efficiently, maintain productivity and be dependable

Highly organized, ability to multi-task and prioritize

Proven ability to implement continuous improvements and standardize processes

Experience in the design and manufacturing of bodies or accessories for commercial Medium or Heavy trucks

Experience with sheet metal design and fabrication including laser cutting, punching, forming, welding and painting (liquid and powder)
