About Our Client: Manufacturer based in northwestern Ohio, with multiple facilities around the US and continuing to grow. They are the leading producer of the product they manufacture.

Position Summary: This is a newly created position reporting to the Director of HR; the objective is to move into their role when the current Director retires (3-5 years)

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing administration of training and skill enhancement processes for a multi-site organization of nearly 400 employees across the United States
  • Programs under the ownership of this position are designed to improve workplace competency, reduce training gaps for the entire workforce, and improve overall enterprise efficiency in a Lean environment 

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, implement and administer training and skill enhancement processes and programs
  • Develop and maintain internal training facilities and resources
  • Conduct needs assessments, identifying individual and organizational skills and knowledge gaps needing attention, recommending gap solutions
  • Evaluate training and development initiatives effectiveness
  • Conduct train-the-trainer classes for internal subject-matter experts and trainers
  • Manage vendors and external resources that assist in delivering our strategies
  • Develop and maintain T&D future strategy (3 year horizon)
  • Travel 30-40%
     

Ideal Candidate Qualities & Experience:

  • ​Bachelor's Degree in a related field (i.e., Business, Education, etc.)
  • 4+ years training & development experience
  • Manufacturing background
  • Experience as a trainer or training/development manager
  • HR experience
  • Professional certification (SHRM/HCRI/ATD)
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Exceptional presentation development ability
  • Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills
     

Position/Company Benefits:

  • $90-110K base salary + bonus
  • Three weeks vacation
  • 2-part 401K contribution
