Our client looking for an experienced Controls Engineer to focus on PLC and HMI Programming in addition to Full Plant Support. The ideal candidate will have experience in Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC and willingness to learn Mitsubishi, Controllogix 5000, RS Logix 5000, PLC 5, Step 7, and TIA Portal.

Job Functions

  • Create and commission industrial controls systems, PLC software design, and HMI screens, for different industries and environments
  • PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and commissioning of the complete system
  • Commission drives/servos
  • Conduct the peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming, coordinate the machine debug, power-up, and machine validation with the build and electrical teams
  • Ensure that systems are designed and programmed to the customer and/or DyAG build specifications using standard techniques and approaches
  • Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of systems

Requirements

  • BSEE OR BSEET OR BS in Computer Science OR BS Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • 2+ years of Controls Engineering/PLC programming experience
  • 1+ years of SCADA Ignition experience is required
  • 2+ years of Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC and HMI programming experience
  • The ability to program/write code/ladder logic from scratch
  • Prior experience with automotive manufacturing integration
  • Prior experience programming within customer-defined standards and templates
  • Proficient with a variety of field bus networks including but not limited to DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, ProfiNet, etc.
  • 85% travel
