We have a client in search of a CNC Brake Press & Roll Form Operator in the Toldeo area. This person will be responsible for preparing and operating heavy-duty power press equipment to bend, form, and straighten metal plates, sheet metal, structural shapes, and weldments. The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience and be able to thoroughly read blueprints, layout drawings, and templates.

Job Functions

  • Apply knowledge of physical properties of metal to plan the sequence of operations
  • Measure and sight workpiece using tape, ruler, straightedge, and transit, to mark reference lines
  • Select and position flat, V-block, radius, or special purpose die sets into ram and bed of machine, using jib or crane
  • Align and bolt dies to ram and bed of machine, using gauges, templates, feelers, shims, and wrenches
  • Set depth and pressure of ram stroke
  • Lift and position workpieces between dies of the machine, using jib or crane and sledge
  • Start machine to lower ram that bends or straightens workpiece between dies
  • Reposition workpiece and change die when making multiple or successive passes
  • Inspect and mark job number on the finished workpieces
  • Bend or straighten cold metal
  • Operate horizontal power press to bend or straighten long pieces of bar stock or structural shapes
  • Program back gauge 
  • Work with three different roll forms that range from 16 gauge to 3/8 plate

Requirements

  • Three to five years of CNC machining experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment 
  • Attention to detail and process-oriented 
  • Strong work ethic 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Team player
