We have a direct hire opportunity for a client in search of a CNC Machinist in the Cleveland area. This person will be responsible for preparing and operating heavy-duty power press equipment to bend, form, and straighten metal plates, sheet metal, structural shapes, and weldments. The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience and be able to thoroughly read blueprints, layout drawings and templates.

Job Functions
  • Set up and run CNC equipment utilizing Fanuc controls.
  • Follow work instructions by maintaining specifications, by observing milling, drilling, tapping, grooving and cutting operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Perform routine maintenance. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Read blueprints and inspect parts. Check accuracy of work against blueprints.
  • Read mics, calipers, OD’s, tool presetting/comparators, dial bore gauges and make proper tooling offsets in the machine tool, as well as, proper speeds & feeds.
  • Program & understand G&M codes.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Requirements
  • Three to five years of experience in one or more of the following: programming, mills, lathes, or cast iron parts
  • Must be able to read blueprints 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment 
  • Attention to detail and process-oriented
